A More Intimate Look At Your Journey
*Literally "pure life," "pura vida" is an expression unique to Costa Rica that is used in most casual conversations (e.g. "How are you doing?"..."Pura vida!" ...or "I'll see you later."..."Pura vida!"). These words offer instant insight into the positive attitude and general character of the sunny Costa Rican people.
Turu Ba Ri Park
Turo Ba Ri Park is a great introduction to Costa Rica, with the park's nature tours, its variety of adventure activities, and the park's interesting cultural demonstrations. The scenic aerial tram crossing high above the Tarcoles River gives a good overview of this 595 acre park, which was created with an underlying commitment to sustainable tourism that does not spoil the natural environment it celebrates.
Of course Turo Ba Ri Park has many trails where you can find natural displays of Costa Rica's vivid tropical flora (remember to bring your cameras!), but there are also impressive botanical gardens with hundreds of species of Orchids, Heliconias, Bamboo, Bromeliads and also a Butterfly Garden. There are a multitude of tropical birds and other wildlife found in the park, but you can also take a tour of the crocodile pond and iguana zoo.
For the more adventurous, there are exciting activities like the 3,280' flying zip line, horse back riding, a 260' high climbing wall and a jungle canopy tour on a network of platforms & cables... or you can just relax in the jungle pool created along a stream with its natural waterfall.
Turo Ba Ri Park even offers an introduction to Costa Rica's cultural history, including a 1950s ox-driven sugar cane mill. As our guest, you will get a literal "taste" of Costa Rican culture when you partake in an extensive lunch of traditional Costa Rican dishes. These will be prepared in front of you in an open-air kitchen, and served with beverages made from locally grown fruits.
After all this, you can sit back and enjoy the rest of your scenic journey to Hotel Karahe ~ Manuel Antonio (National Park, Village & Beach) ~ Quepos.
